I can pretty much speak from personal experience because of husband had thyroid cancer last year and had his whole thyroid removed and because of that he is on hormone replacements for the rest of is life. Without them life would be pretty rough for him. He takes pills to help control his hormones. There are other options however and one i found was called BHRT. Which stands for biomedical hormone replacement therapy. They are pills that are plant based and made by man that replicates what the body produces. Estrogen, progesterone and testosterone are the most come ones. Benefits from using bhrt are reducing your risk of diabetes, or cataracks. But like everything else there can also be side effects that come from it like mood swings, stroke, fatigue, weight gain. I wouldn’t mind if my husband were to be on a more natural form of hormone replacement but it has only been a year so we have time to research other forms of it.

For your reply post, find a classmate who discussed a different type of HRT than you. In your response, put yourself in the scenario discussed. If you were the patient in that scenario, would you choose to go through with HRT or would you look for alternative treatments? Do the benefits of HRT outweigh the risks, in your opinion?
